We invest a lot of time, energy and ingenuity working towards the future we want. As we move with confidence towards our goals, things become more concrete and certain. We’re in a boat heading for the sun.
People call me when things aren’t flowing, when they have nagging doubts, an instinct something else is needed. They may already have analysed, tried to fix, exhausted their ideas or patience.
The interference isn’t about individual competence, willingness or skill.
It’s about the system. We use systemic sense and skill to understand.
If this data made perfect sense, what sense would it make?
We survey the landscape of the interference, how performance is stalling, the context, loop and swirls. We let go ideas of right and wrong and explore with appreciation, see the mountains climbed, your strengths and brilliance.
We pay attention to all that is experienced and expressed, the emotion, energy and language of it, where it echoes and repeats. We follow our curiosity, see where the trail is hot and cold, unknot the tangles.
We rise to the surface with the question, ‘What will you do differently tomorrow?’ People emerge lighter and more equipped. Together, you are ready for the next chapter.
Knowing our patterns gives us more choice
Our patterns are the source of our greatest strengths. Understanding them better brings new choices and helps us work with more ease and flow.
I signpost the clues, test my hunches. ‘Could this be the pattern?’ People name the ways they encounter it. There is no personal failure, only loyalty and dedication. Blame and guilt fall away.
We uncover hidden promises, the precious reasons we repeat, resist, rebel, push to exhaustion. Was something lost in the merger? What comes with the expectations and funding? In what ways are we living in the past?
Endings, breakthroughs and new landscapes
More revolutionary are the shifts that signal new eras: changes in leadership, scaling up or out, passing on the baton.
We are in the territory of wake-up calls, reset and transformation. It can be liberating, and we might feel disorientated, untethered, unsure of our place.
