What I do

I help people find clarity in complexity and have more impact with less effort

Diagnostics that give a read of the system

Diagnostics give clarity. They often bring a sense of validation and relief because people have a picture that includes all they are experiencing, and explanations for confusing or contradictory data.

  • The power and strengths of the system in its context: what’s been created, what’s working well
  • Interference: what’s difficult; unused potential; recognisable systemic patterns
  • Strategic intervention: concrete next steps

Facilitation that liberates the magic of groups

I provide a bubble for groups to be with each other in a different way and hold the process for leaders so they can focus on the conversation.

We release limiting patterns and emerge insight and energy that changes the field of what’s possible.

  • Generative space: pause, regroup, connect, laugh, resource, inspire
  • Expand perception and choice: play and build new muscle for resilience, agility and adaptability
  • Collective action: more alignment, clarity and confidence, making the most of people’s capabilities and contributions

Systemic mapping to see the whole picture and act decisively

Map all the data you have about a situation including what’s held intuitively or unconsciously.

Connect the dots, uncover hidden connections and find coherence and clarity so you can act with greater confidence and impact.

  • Test before you commit: know more about how your plans will land in a low-risk, high-insight way
  • Navigate the sensitive: gain clarity on situations that are complex, stuck or sensitive
  • Release interference: understand what’s needed for ease and flow

Build internal capacity in working at a system level

Cultivating systemic sense helps people ‘see’ systems more clearly – and spot the high-impact 2% shifts that make all the difference.

This is especially important when the stakes are high - with a new leader or direction, culture change or smoothing the path of a merger.

  • Top team retreats and coaching: resource and ‘sharpen the eyes’ of those who shape the organisation
  • Support for internal consultants and facilitators: practical approaches and techniques
  • Peer-to-peer learning: support people and harness their ingenuity
  • Our conversations have helped me slow down, reframe how I show up, and be more intentional about the role I want to play, not just in this organisation, but in my broader journey as a leader. Thank you again for your generosity, insight, and warmth. I will carry a great deal of what we explored going forward, and I very much hope our paths cross again.”

  • I can't recommend working with Lycia enough. Her guidance has helped me focus my professional career and trust my own path in life. I've been able to reconnect with the bigger vision about my business and find answers to the issues that were preventing me reaching the level I know is possible. She has gently supported me with precision and insight to discover new perspectives about my purpose and place in this world. Her sessions have been life-changing.

It felt like we were going on a voyage of discovery rather than merely stepping through a programme and as a result the outcomes were more substantial and went deeper.

    Knowing better than the boss

It is clearest in the individual coaching. Huge frustration, uncertainty about staying, disdain, overwhelm. ‘What’s the point of me as a leader if I’m not on top of everything?’ Ah yes, the impossible promise, the grinding drag [...]

    ‘No-one seems accountable.’

The project is late. Every week of delay costs tens of thousands. It sounds like parentification: the blurring of roles and responsibilities, stepping on toes, gaps that no-one sees until too late [...]

    The messy, muddy climb out

I can’t find anything in the textbooks about emerging from a pattern that’s been getting in our way. It’s talked about as if life unfolds into Happy Ever After but for me it can be a lumpy experience [...]

‘Finally, someone who understands my situation!

Discovering the pattern of triangulation I am shocked in that moment. Does he feel isolated, this warm, thoughtful, accomplished man? I try to hide my reaction but he isn’t looking at me. We have uncorked something and he is talking, […]

    The pattern of parentification

The archetype is of a child ‘stepping up’ to take care of its parent/s. Some of us have lived this for real but we all know how to ‘do’ parentification. At work, many of us are trained and rewarded for knowing and might feel we contribute only if [...]
